COOKING CLASSES

All four classes repeated monthly.  Book any one of  below dates/choice of prefered 5 hour class,  at R500.00 per person,  in home environment for classes less than seven. Based in Randburg, Jukskei Park

Vegan Cooking Lessons with focus on faux meats: Just Vegan has opened up two Saturdays per month for this class (1st & 2nd Saturday respectively). Please note time changes between the two.

  • Lesson commences at AM: 11:00, and completes at 16:00 (5 hours).
  • Price incl of tea, breakfast/brunch, beverage, and late lunch cook offs, petit fours, and coffee.
  • All ingredients and materials needed for lessons are provided.
  • One on one, and or group cook lessons.
  • Learn how to bake rolls, and create faux meats (ham, bacon, beef, mince, chicken, fish, and scramble), using a variety of textures and flavours.
  • You will also have a better understanding of pantry essentials and kitchen equipment to enhance vegan cooking.
  • Recipe material and recommended suppliers will be mailed to you as you complete.
  • You will take home samples of each recipe that you have prepped, developed, and cooked during your day together.

Itinerary:

11:00 – 13:00; Prepping dough for rolls. Prepping ham, bacon, beef, mince, chicken, fish – working with tofu, textured vegetable protein, curd skins, seitan, and learning how to manipulate flavours.

14:00 – 14:00; Bake rolls. scramble tofu eggs, blitz up a juice, and sit down to breakfast/brunch.

14:00 – 15:00; Reflect, discuss pantry essentials, design late lunch menu.

15:00 – 16:00; Cook lunch and enjoy, then finish with petit four & coffee.

Want to switch from dairy to dairy alternatives but don’t know how? Are you finding it difficult or frustrating to find dairy alternatives, or do you find these processed versions still a little on the expensive side? Allow us to show you during another fun filled day, how to make your own plant based milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, chocolate and cheesecake! We want to help you consume healthy versions of processed dairy foods, and take charge of your budgets.

• Learn about egg substitutes, how to make plant based egg scramble, fried egg, boiled egg, devilled egg, ice cream, meringue, and five plant based milks, using a variety of textures and flavours.
• You will also have a better understanding of pantry essentials and kitchen equipment used to enhance vegan cooking.
• Recipes, egg replacer material, and recommended suppliers will be mailed to you as you complete.

Itinerary:

9:00 – 11:00; Prepping boiled egg and variety of ice creams, meringues.

11.00 – 12:00; Cooking various methods of plant based eggs.

12:00 – 13:00; Egg brunch. Reflect, discuss Pantry essentials.

13:00 – 14:00; Prepping five varieties of plant based milk, ice cream tasting & coffee.

  1. The moment I walked through the door, the energy was great and Šárka has such a special presence and is so incredibly passionate about what she does that it rubs off on others and is truly inspirational.

    The course was so insightful. The various ingredients really got my creative juices flowing and I’m eager to try out my own recipes at home, using the techniques that were taught in the course.

    Thank you for the all around experience! I loved it and would recommend it to anyone curious about food:)

  2. Cooking class with focus on egg replacements:

    What an interesting and insightful class. I had a lot of fun learning about plant based alternatives for eggs and dairy in this class. I loved the fact that the classes are free flowing and you can express yourself creatively without having to stick to a recipe with no room for experimentation.

    All of our creations were not only tasty and cruelty free but also visually stunning!

    Thank you to Šárka and Lars for being such enthusiastic, passionate and warm hosts! Definitely going to try and come to all the classes on offer.
